MY GRANDFATHER

Biography of my grandfather

My grandfather's name is Francisco Palacios Serrano. It is the father of my mother. He was born in Alcalá la Real, province of Jaén, in Andalusia, he was born on July 27, 1936, meaning that he is eighty-three years old. He is the little one of the house, he is the little one of eight brothers, 2 girls and 6 boys. Currently only he and one of his sisters are alive, I have never met her and I don't know her name.

After a long sixteen years there, where he was educated, grew up and went to school, he and his family moved to Figueras, because a great friend of his parents had gotten a job for him and all his brothers. For his parents it was an opportunity that they had taken advantage of.

My grandfather has worked all his life as a truck driver, he learned to drive thanks to his brothers with sixteen years and he began as anyone at eighteen to work, he began to transport land, sand, helping with moving loads, etc.

In a move of the many in which he helped, he met the love of his life, after 8 months of relationship, Visitación Rodriguez, with who he was going to spend the rest of his life, my grandmother, with who they had 2 daughters and a son: Toni, Francisca Pepa, and my mother, Ángeles. currently live together and happy in Castellón de Ampurias.

2. Which basic elements of horror do you remember from the introductory lesson? Write a minimum of ten.

We had comented some of the basic elements of the short horror videos of the pumpkin, and we had this conclusion that this are the basic elements:
  1. Jumpscares
  2. Close ups
  3. Screams
  4. Scary characters (ghosts, phenoms, skulls...)
  5. Points of view
  6. Suspence
  7. Spooky music
  8. Scary places (haunted places, atmospheras...)
  9. ‘Malevolent’ or ‘Wicked’ characters
  10. Mistery
3. Choose one of the topics on DISCOVERING LITERATURE and write a post:

Dracula: vampires, perversity and Victorian anxieties

The article was written by Greg Buzwel and talks about topics like: Anxiety and the vampire in late-Victorian Britain, Sex and the Vampire, Dracula and Modernity.

The first that we find in the article is a description of a vampire and the same with dracula, and it says that vampires are complicated creatures: caught between life and death, at once alluring and horrifying, and that they represent fears of immigration, sexual promiscuity and moral degeneration.

It says that there are so many ways to represent a vampire because they have always been a contradictory figure: on the one hand a repellent blood-sucking creature crawling from the grave, and, on the other, a strangely alluring representation of nocturnal glamour.

Next to this there ase some paragrafs of the argument of the grand novel, connected to descriving some of the vampirres characteristics, like Physical characteristics: Pale skin, Sensitivity to sunlight physically (i.e., sunburn easily) and/or visually, Visual sensitivity to any light source, Better night vision than day vision, Eye color changing with mood or for no apparent reason, Extreme movility...

The post talks aout the connection between vampires and sexuality: using some novels to explain it (Sheridan Le Fanu’s short story ‘Carmilla’ (1872), Vampires who can have sex eliminate the fear of impotency and reestablish order in the disruption of the normative sexual act. They can both penetrate and deliver fluid, as well as receive the fluid of the victim/lover (I liked so much this characteristic) eliminating the fear of emasculation and remasculating the vampire.
Also compares some novels that have sexuality in it (with the novel Carmilla, written by Sheridan Le Fanu’s)  to see the evolution and how the vampire sexuality changed throught the years.

And last topic on the post is how the moddernity changed the traditional Vampires transformuing them, and the evolution of the vampires novels during this and pasts centuries.

I recommend the post, it is very interesant for being honest.

WHAT I WOULD DO IF I WIN THE LOTTERY

First of all I prefer to win the lottery that gives me more money THE BEST ONE, so let's suppose that I won the ONZE CUPONAZO, which the 1st prize is one 90.000.000 €, that is a lot of money! So much that I don't need to work anymore in my life, me and my whole family, so much that I can burn money if I want.

But If I win it, which is almost impractical and unmanageable, first of all I would like to buy a new house, or better, a mansion with an enormous garden where I can live relaxed with my family and more happy than ever. Then I would change my studies, I would go into a good high school, a private one, with other rich people. I'd buy a new luxury car for my parents, a Rolls Royce or some of the style, so expensive. Maybe I'd offer money to my idols, singers to come see me, to my house, singers like guitarricadelafuente, Pol Granch, Rels b, Trippie Red, and much more, for sure they come for the money, so I think this could work.

And the last thing I'd do, and the smartest move I think I can do is save the money, so if it happens some global disaster I can have the enough money to remake my life and my family's lives. And if I still have money donated it, all of it, to some ONG to save the planet because the global disaster.

GOTHIC VOCABULARY

Last night my friends and I went to the graveyard, it was my firts time in one so I was astonished, the graveyard was tremendous! But the most frightening thing of the graveyard, of course, is the threatening feeling that forced on us, it was a sensation of having a weird pression of having to be attentive all the time for whatever you least expect to be attacked, maybe some diabolical ghost, some haunted goblinor hust some terrific criature in the graveyard. But when my friends and I saw that everyone of us were quaking in their boots, we decide to leave the graveyard.

HORROR MOVIE

When I first saw a preview for this movie, I knew it looked like it had potential, it was scary and it was interesting. It had been a while since I saw a decent scary movie so I was looking forward to it. I went into it expecting some scares but nothing too bad. Wrong. This movie scared me out of my wits. I don't think I have ever jumped more during any other scary movie, I think Insidious is one of the scary movies with more jumpscares in what does cinema today. The audience was spooked too. I saw many other people jumping out of their seats and even heard a few actual screams.

In the movie there ara a lot of jumpscares, but defenently the best for me is this one, because the thriller is so long and you don't know wherever the jumpscare it's gona jump, here you can see my favourite scene and jumpscare in the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaNXr87XvCk

What I loved about this movie was that it actually tries to scare you, not gross you out. The images are frightening for sure. Insidious doesn't waste any time trying to creep you out, the movie always keeps the same interests, and that makes it a great movie. The scares already start with the opening credits. I sure was not expecting this to be one of the scariest movies i've seen but it lives up to that.

That being said, I don't think I'd have the guts to see it again! I'ts so scary!

ANIMAL IN YOU

Today we have taken a test that show us what animal we are, after taking this test (https.animalinyou.com test) I've reached the conclusion that I'm a bat.

With this characteristics ArtisticReflectiveUnpredictable

And with this careers and hobbies: PsychiatristArtistSocial WorkerArcheologistWriterMusicianSocializingPhilosophy

For being honest I agree with the results, I think the bat is the best animal that represents me, but only with the caracteristics. But the only one that convinces me at 100 % is Artistic.

The careers and hobbies that I can do being a bat in the test are very interesting, I like more ones than others honestly, the ones I like the most are:

  - Psychiastrist, because I think I'm a very good person in a way that I can empathize with other persons easily, so I can help them the best I can with their problems.

  -  Musician, because I think music is a whole world with open doors for every human in the Earth, I mean, everyone can do a base, everyone can o music, even with rocks, everyone can sing, everyone can get better doing what you like.

  - Archeologist, I think that to investigate about animals past, humans past or even the dinosaurs are one of the most interesting careers in the ones for being a bat.

And the other ones I think they are boring for me, I mean, philosophy is boring for me, the same with artist, social worker, writer or socializing. So the conclusion is that I like being a bat, or I like that the bat is the animal that represents me.

HALLOWEEN TRADITIONS

We are a few days away from Halloween and only things or questions like trick or treat come to mind. And some of the traditions on this celebration like dressing as a ghost, warewolf, mummy or just a zombie. Ask trick or treat whenever you ring a strange's person house asking for candies are the reasons that make halloweeen be halloween.

If you know Halloween, you know the Jack-O'- Lantern, these pumpkin with a horror or a simple and friendly face, the legend says that are supposedly based on a legend about a strange man named Stingy Jack who repeatedly trapped the Devil and only let him go on the condition that Jack would never go to Hell, because he didn't want that whenever he dies.

When he died, however, Jack learned and saw that Heaven didn’t really want his soul either, so he was condemned to wander the Earth as a ghost for all eternity. The Devil gave Jack a lamp of burning coal in a carved-out turnip to light his way.

INTELLIGENCE TEST

Today we have taken a test of our intelligence and according to the graphics my top intelligences are these:

- Musical (69 %): This is the one I like the most, because I think is the one with more careers in it, so I'd like to be a musician if I have to choose.

Interpersonal (69 %)Honestly, I don't think this is true, I'm a very messy person, and most of the times I don't know what I can do in several decisions, but I think 'm very good at empathizing with my friends or other persons to help them with any of their problems, so I think this is a good inteligence for me.

- Visual/ Spatial (69 %)

I don't like any of these professions, but if I need to choose one of these three, I choose musical, because I would like to be a great producer of music in a world of Trap, or music in general. I think this profession is my favourite, and the one that I like the most.

But I don't agree with the other two, because are things that I don't like, and I really don't know what to do. For sure I don't like doing an Intrapersonal or a Spatial career...

So if I have to find 5 careers, according with my potential intelligences I could be a:

- Maybe a Songwriter.

- As I said before I could be a Music Producer.

- I could be a Singer.

- I could be a music teacher.

- And also I could be an electronic music DJ in great festivals.

MY BIGGEST DREAM

First of all I'm gonna tell you what my biggest dream is:

My biggest dream is becoming a professional football player and someday playing in FC Barcelona. I wish someday this became true, because I have been a FC Barcelona fan since I was just a baby, and I had this dream practically all my life.

The first things I have to face is to improve myself and get the best possible, then in every match be better than the other teams and try to attract the atention of the best teams in the region, and maybe, sign with them (UE Figueras, RCD Espanyol, FC Girona...).

Now I'll have to face the best teams in the region, maybe face some defeats, some victories, or drafts. But the point is that I am getting better, and I am learning so much with this.

The day will arrive, we'll play against the team that we want to be in it, FC Barcelona, I'll play this match like a final, and I'll be optimist in catching the FC Barcelona's couch atention to sign.

And I'll be playing on the best team in Earth, a dream come true.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS...

Climate Change

It's true that climate change is problably one of the reasons that may finish with the entire humanity if we don't try to do change or at least try to.

We have to be more aware with the things that we are doing to the Earth, because I think that the humans are going to be the species that is going to "kill himself", and that the reality if we don't change.

We need to stop making our global temperature go up and up non-stop, and these are the things that we have to do:

PROTECT  RESTORE  FUND.
It's easy, we only have to protect, restore and fund:

We must protect our nature, our forests are being cut down...

We must restore our nature to, more when much of our planet has been damaged, but nature can regenerate, and when we have to help our nature bouce back.

We need to stop funding things that destroy nature, and press our goverments to pay for things that help it.
